Anthony Mantha heading to Red Wings

Anthony Mantha is hot. The Detroit Red Wings on Friday confirmed what hockey fans in #BeerCityUSA have known for quite awhile and recalled forward Anthony Mantha from the Grand Rapids Griffins.

The call-up comes just days after fellow Griffin Tyler Bertuzzi joined the Wings.

MarthaComing off a 2015-16 season in which he placed fourth on the Griffins in regular season scoring (21-24—45) and paced the club in the postseason with 11 points (4-7—11), Mantha, 22, is tied for the AHL lead with eight goals in 10 games this season while tying for second with four power play goals so far. He also has 2 assists on the season.

Over 132 games with the Griffins since 2014, Mantha has registered 88 points (44-44—88) and contributed 15 points (6-9—15) in 25 Calder Cup Playoff games.
