Mike Borkowski and Matthew Caito have signed standard player contracts for the 2016-17 with the Grand Rapids Griffins.
After a four-year collegiate career at Colgate, Borkowski joined the AHL ranks as a member of the Binghamton Senators, where he scored 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) in 12 games during an amateur tryout last season. The 6’2, 180-pound center scored his first professional goal in his first game, a win on March 13, 2016 over Rochester.
Cairo, 5’11 and 187-pounds, played at Miami (OH) before making his pro debut with the Toledo Walleye last season, playing eight games and scoring five points(2 goals, 3 assists).
The Griffins will begin the home portion of their 2016-17 season on Friday, Oct. 14 at Van Andel Arena.
