‘Caps knock out Lugnuts, 11-3

The West Michigan Whitecaps scored a season-high 11 runs Friday night en route to a win over the Lansing Lugnuts at Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park, MI.

The ‘Caps had 19 hits, three more than their previous 2016 record of 16 on April 22 against Dayton, scored seven runs in the third and fourth innings combined and eased their way into the weekend series.

Kyle Dowdy(3-1) picked up win number three on the season and Cam Gibson hit the first homer of the season for the ‘Caps at home when he hit a solo shot over the right field fence in the seventh inning.
