Jarell Eddie, Bulls take Drive on roller-coaster ride for 131-114 win

Jarell Eddie and the Windy City Bulls got off to a quick start before allowing the Grand Rapids Drive back in to the game but finished with a flurry of 47 points in the fourth quarter to secure their third straight victory with a 131-114 win Tuesday night in Hoffman Estates, IL.

Coming off the bench Eddie scored 31 points in only 21 minutes, draining 8-of-10 three-pointers as the Bulls (13-16) snapped the Drive’s (16-17) four-game winning streak. Windy City hit 23 three-pointers as a team in the game.

After getting out to an 18-9 lead early in the first quarter, the Bulls found themselves in a battle in the second and third quarters as the Drive fought hard to take the lead and continue their winning ways, but the Bulls’ 47-point fourth quarter, the most points given up by the Drive this season, sealed the win.

Jordan Crawford led all scorers with a game-high 35 points and Kevin Murphy added 34 points and eight rebounds of his own, but no other GR player scored over 11 points.

Former Detroit Pistons guard Will Bynum led the Bulls charge with a +/- of 29, including 11 of the team’s 37 assists on the night. Alfonzo McKinnie had 20 points and 13 rebounds for Windy City and Jake Layman, on assignment for the Portland Trail Blazers, had 19 points, six rebounds and five assists.

While both teams shot well from three-point land, the Bulls (48% 3FG) moved the ball around with ease (37 assists) as Grand Rapids (46% 3FG) noticeably missed recent Charlotte Hornets signee, Ray McCallum.

After giving up the second-most points this season, the Drive can get back in the win column as they host the Greensboro Swarm tonight at the DeltaPlex Arena in Grand Rapids, MI.
