Shane Greene helps Caps win with three scoreless innings in rehab stint

Detroit Tigers pitcher Shane Greene took the mound in a rehab start for the West Michigan Whitecaps as they notched a 3-1 victory over the Fort Wayne Tin Caps Friday night at Parkview Field in Fort Wayne, IN.

Greene finished three scoreless innings giving up two hits, walking one and striking out five.

Beau Burrows (2-3), who was originally scheduled to start on Saturday, picked up the victory after five innings of shutout baseball in relief of Greene. Jake Shull picked up his fifth save.

The Whitecaps have fought their way to four games over .500 at 21-17 and continue this series Saturday night at Parkview Field when left-hander Trent Szkutnik gets the start.
