Scott Sinclair and Moussa Dembele both found the back of the net in a 2-0 Celtic FC win over Motherwell in Ladbrokes’ Scottish Premiership League play on Saturday.
Sinclair started the scoring in the 18th minute with a strike off a James Forrest cross as Celtic took the one goal lead. Dembele would put a ball off the goal in the 38th minute and 19-year old Kieran Tierney would miss a goal off the post just before the half after a great run through the defense.
Celtic would have to wait until the 83rd minute to feel they’d taken home the three points as Dembele was fouled and put a penalty shot past Steelers goalkeeper Craig Samson, who had fouled Dembele in the box.
Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers praised the team after the game,
“I said to the players before the game for us to succeed it’s not just about us being hungry for the success, it’s about being starving.”
Celtic keeps a four point lead in league standings with a game in hand over Aberdeen. The Bhoys will host Borussia Goldbach in UEFA Champions League play on Wednesday.
