“Not one. Not two. Not three. Not four.”
LeBron James obviously knew what he was talking about back in 2010, if he were talking about the 2016 West Michigan Whitecaps‘ run at the end of May.
Kyle Dowdy threw seven strong innings, allowing one run, on his way to win number two (2-0) this season as the ‘Caps beat the Dayton Dragons 3-2 Sunday afternoon at Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park, MI.
The Will’s did it again, this time with (Will) Maddox (seen at left) getting Derek Hill to third on an infield hit and (Will) Allen knocking Hill in with a sacrifice-fly to centerfield in the first inning. Hill would pay back some restitution in the second with a run-scoring double to give manager Andrew Graham‘s club a 2-0 lead. After Dayton scored to make it 2-1, Arvicent Perez added a run in the sixth with a sacrifice fly to score Jose Azocar and push the lead to two runs. The Dragons would score again in the eighth, but Jake Shull put down the last four batters to tie the team-high (Gerson Moreno) with his seventh save.
West Michigan (27-19)and Dayton conclude the series on Monday, with the game starting at 1:00p.m. Sandy Baez (1-5) starts for West Michigan. The team will wear special camouflage jerseys in honor of Memorial Day and all the veterans who gave their life so we can live free.
